Raylene Mitchell
Engineer, Yukon University's Northern Energy Innovation
Raylene Mitchell (she/her) is an Inuk woman originally from Makkovik, Labrador. In 2021, she became a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) graduate, and is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She is currently employed with Yukon University’s Northern Energy Innovation developing wind turbine models for Canada’s North. Raylene has a strong passion for developing the idea that being Indigenous and being an engineer are not mutually exclusive. Much of her work aims to blend those identities to create a North where Indigenous communities have complete agency over their communities and projects.
